Gawai Dayak Ceremony



The Gawai Dayak is a huge thanksgiving festival after the rice harvest symbolizing unity, aspiration, prosperity, and the recognition of Dayak identity as part of the greater Indonesian nation. In this festival, Dayak people come from all over West Kalimantan to participate in traditional and modern events including adat (traditional) rituals, exhibitions, seminar, fashion shows and a range of contest including sports, dance, painting, wood carving, and more.
