Mount Poteng in Singkawang

Now the city into Singkawang city icon of tourism cities of the earth equator. We as citizens of the city is very wonderful. Singkawang must be proud of this mount Poteng because the name is already starting in the tourism map of the national or international. Of course this is a blessing hard work of the various elements of society who live in Singkawang and also overseas. Now city residents can feel so proud of Singkawang with some tourism that has started many visited mainly by tourists on holidays such as Pasir Panjang or Lont Beach, Sinka Island Park garden with animals. Then the moment the city is holding a regular annual event that is Imlek and Cap Go Meh which will take the attention of mass media and tourists.

However, as citizens of the city, I find myself still dreamed of the city like Singkawang will also be having mountain tourism, the city so that the complete the tourist objects of the Singkawang city. There may be a good mountain tourism also need to be developed, such as Mount Poteng. Why mountain Poteng? Because the mountain Poteng have historical value (no relation to the Governor of West Kalimantan is the first and there there is a dedication inscription by JC Oevang Oeray). In addition, mountain Poteng have also been known by many people and also very exotic location as tourism. Unfortunately, if the potential for mountain Poteng have been ignored by all of our attention.

Hopefully this year 2009, the local government of Singkawang through the Office of Culture and Tourism can give me attention and revitalization-a-mountain tourism of this mount Poteng for eligible visited by tourists, both domestic and foreign. When you need to be discussed with the Office of Culture and Tourism of the province as may be provincial assets. Hopefully the mountain Poteng will make our tourism will be equal to another famous mountains that owned by other provinces such as mount Merapi, Mount Bromo, Kaliurang in Yogya or peak in West Java.
